format question
This has been a problem for as long as I have used word and I certainly hope
someone can help! When writing and the text goes to the next line, if I want to add some spaces, I can not. I'm currently in a table, so tab goes to the next cell. I want to indent the text for these two lines only. I can manually space the first line but the next line will do nothing. Only if I add a letter, the next letter can be spaced, but deleting the "added" letter returns the text to the original position. How can I indent just this one line, without redoing the margins ect. Thank you so much... chele |

You'll need to add a line break (Shift+Enter) at the end of the previous
line; then you can add spaces if desired, but a tab character would be preferable, and you can insert that in a table using Ctrl+Tab. -- Suzanne S. format question
Ctrl+Tab won't insert two tab characters; possibly the paragraph already had
a hanging indent? Or it still had the spaces you inserted earlier? If you display nonprinting characters (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm), it is a lot easier to see what you're dealing with. -- Suzanne S.
