[upstate gardener]

On Windows XP mail merge is not retrieving my data, a mailing list created in
Excel.
System keeps locking when I ask it to open the list I am designating and
thus can't get to the merge and/or print commands. Would appreciate some
suggestions and solution to this problem.

How do you have the data arranged in the Excel worksheet?
