XP Pro SP3
Office Pro SP3 Have a single system that when browsing files in Explorer then right-clicking on a Word (*.doc) file the context menu doesn't have the "Save As" option. My end-users use this quite a bit to convert Word 2007 file to Word 2003 files. I'm sure it is most likely a registry entry but not certain best way to locate. Thanks in advance!! |

Are you referring to the Save Target As option that you see when you
right-click a link in Internet Explorer? As far as I know, it has never allowed you to change the format. What you can do is the following: Save the document to the hard drive and then convert it by opening it and Saving As in Word. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "RTI-Helpdesk" wrote: XP Pro SP3 Office Pro SP3 Have a single system that when browsing files in Explorer then right-clicking on a Word (*.doc) file the context menu doesn't have the "Save As" option. Stefan,
Yes I'm referring to the Save As on the popup menu in Explorer, and if you look at a 2003 file format and select save as you will see the file format of 2007 docx, docm etc.. And when you have a 2007 format file it will offer the *.doc 2003 format. On the target machine it doesn't display the "Save As" option from the menu at all. -John "Stefan Blom" wrote: Are you referring to the Save Target As option that you see when you right-click a link in Internet Explorer? I remember I used a machine with Office 2007 that showed the 'Save as' option
on the Explorer context menu, so I could easily convert docx files into doc. Then the IT people substituted my PC€“and the new one, although having Office 2007 installed as well, didn't show the 'Save as' option on the context menu. Guys, I just found what's needed to have that "Save as' option: install the
Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en "Paultx" wrote: I remember I used a machine with Office 2007 that showed the 'Save as' option on the Explorer context menu, so I could easily convert docx files into doc.
