Default how to kill the caps lock

I keep hitting the caps lock by mistake, which is really annoying when, like
me, you type whole sentences without looking at the screen. I never use that
key and would like to be able to disable it. How do I do it, short of using a
wedge, which I'm not sure is safe?
thanks

LAurence,

I too tired of that annoyance; I soleved my issue on teh desktop by simply
removing teh capslock keycap-- I can still force caps lock if if I REALLY
want it on using my pencil eraser, but I no longer get the accidental
occurrence. I am not sure if Laptops offer the same opportunity

It would be much better than removing the key cap.
