Default Hypertext question

Dear all,

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...earch&search=+
On this page if I hover over any link I will get a bubble with a few words
of information. So can I do this in MS Word 2007 but without involving
hyperlinks? For example I want to have a bubble which with hovering will
appear to give a translation or definition of a particular term in my
document. The closest I have got is 'insert hyperlink' but here the bubble
says 'click to follow link' but there is no link. So is there a better way to
do this?

thanks

If you wrap the text you provide the tip for in a bookmark, you could use
that bookmark as a link destination. The pop-up would still contain the
'click to follow link' text, but it wouldn't be going anywhere if you
clicked it.

If you don't mind having all the definitions displayed at the bottom of your
text, you could use endnotes to achieve what you want.

Thanks for replies. Oh boy this really sucks! To Yves, the problem with
endnotes is that sometimes I want the bubble to say that these 3 or 4 words
are translated as X Y Z, so it is crucial to know which 2, 3, 4 etc words the
bubble applies to.

Of course most hyperlink bubbles on websites these days don't say 'clink
link to follow' because this now goes without saying whereas a few years ago
the reader would need to be told 'clink link to follow'.

Anyway it seems it seems that I will have to use some other application to
do this, maybe a wiki.

thanks
