What extra spaces? Do you mean the extra space between letters and words? If
so... then are you sure you really want justified text? Extra space between letters and word are how Word accomplishes justification. With proportionally spaced characters and uneven amounts of text on each line, justification requires it. There are different justification methods that can be selected using Word options... Perhaps one of them will give you something closer to what you want. If you're using Word 2007, try Office button - Word Options - Advanced - Layout options (bottom of the Advanced section), and look for options that mention justification, such as "Do full justification the way WordPerfect 6.x for Windows does". Hyphenation can also affect the amount of spacing you see. If hyphenation is turned off, try turning it on to see if that provides a better result. In Word 2007, hyphenation is found in the Page Layout ribbon tab. What extra spaces? Do you mean the extra space between words? It happens when there is "Shift+Enter" instead of "Enter" at the end of line. If you're using Word 2007, then follow the below steps which will remove all the extra spaces from the justified lines. step 1. Go to "Find and Replace" (Ctrl+F) option. step 2. Click on More step 3. Click on Special at the bottom step 4. select "Manual line break" from the list for "Find" box step 6. select "Paragraph Mark" from the list for "Replace" box step 7. press Replace All, it will replace all "Shift+Enter" to "Enter" Now you can justify any line without extra spaces between the words. Hope it will help u a lot. Thanks Last edited by devdas : August 13th 12 at 02:17 PM |
