Default comments in fill-in form

I have a 9 page form which is protected. I know it is not possible in Word
2007 for the person completing the form to add formatting to the data
inserted into the form (which would be very useful), but is there any way to
add comments to a form? We have applications which sometimes get changed, and
rather than having to complete a new application, we'd like them to be able
to update the information on the form and indicate what has been changed
using a comment. Any suggestions?

You can provide a text form field for comments.

We already have text fields. What is really required here is the ability to
modify completed forms and allow a way to easily indicate which fields have
been changed. The only way to do that is with a comment or have text be
highlighted or fonts styles changed, neither of which is available with
forms. This is a 9 page form document in which many fields may be changed.
Too bad tracking changes doesn't work with forms.

Any other ideas?
