I looked in help, no luck, searched this forum, no luck. Simple qestion. How
do i put a formula in a word 2007 table. All i want to do is 1) multiply one cell value times another cell value, and 2) total the two columns. Thanks. |

Formula fields haven't changed, so if you knew how to write one in an
earlier version, you can do it the same way in Word 2007. That is, if you can construct an = field by hand, you can still do so. Or if you were using Insert | Field, then you can still use Insert | Text | Quick Parts | Field. If you depended on Table | Formula, then you will find the Formula button at the right end of the contextual Table Tools | Layout tab of the Ribbon. Table cells are still referenced in the same way as before; for more on that, see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...CH060831631033 or pp. 20ff of http://office.microsoft.com/download...AM103824421033 -- Suzanne S. Hi John,
Further to Suzanne's post, to see how to do a wide range of calculations in Word, check out my Word Field Maths Tutorial, at: http://lounge.windowssecrets.com/ind...owtopic=365442 or http://www.gmayor.com/downloads.htm#Third_party -- Cheers macropod [Microsoft MVP - Word] "John Gee" wrote in message ... thanks for the two answers. I'll sort through the info and see what I can get
out of it. I know the Formula Button is of no help as it gives a default sum formula and no options. "John Gee" wrote: I looked in help, no luck, searched this forum, no luck. Simple qestion. I'm not seeing that at all. If I click the Formula button, I get a dialog
that shows a blank beginning with = for the formula, a dropdown for the number format and a dropdown for the function. Even if SUM(ABOVE) or SUM(LEFT) is filled in by default, you can delete that and choose a different function. -- Suzanne S.
