Office Xp and Office 2003 (same document)
User enters text on first page - no problem User enters text on 1st line of second page, when hitting enter or coming to the end of the line, Word moves the cursor to the top of Page 3, type one line, cursor goes to the top of Page 4, etc... Formatting issue? Any ideas what it could be? Thank you Bruce |

The first paragraph of page 2 may be formatted with Page Break Before (in
Format Paragraph Line & Page Breaks), in which case each time you hit Enter you're getting another paragraph with the same setting. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org BruceR wrote: Office Xp and Office 2003 (same document) User enters text on first page - no problem User enters text on 1st line of second page, when hitting enter or coming to the end of the line, Word moves the cursor to the top of Page 3, type one line, cursor goes to the top of Page 4, etc... Thanks Jay, but that option is already unchecked.
Any other ideas? I appreciate the help "Jay Freedman" wrote: The first paragraph of page 2 may be formatted with Page Break Before (in Format Paragraph Line & Page Breaks), in which case each time you hit Enter you're getting another paragraph with the same setting. Hi Bruce,
Stare at all the settings in the Format Paragraph dialog. A very large Space After setting ( 9 inches on a Letter page) would do it. Ditto the File Page Setup dialog. Close the document, then select it in the File Open dialog, click the down arrow next to the Open button, and click Open and Repair. If the document was damaged, that may fix it. If all else fails and the document isn't confidential, zip it and mail it to me, and I'll have a look. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org BruceR wrote: Thanks Jay, but that option is already unchecked.
