put back the bar code for envelopes
According to the information at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/897290, the POSTNET bar code that Word generates no longer qualifies for USPS bulk mailing discounts. Most significantly, the USPS now requires online verification of addresses before the USPS will qualify a business or an organization for a bulk mailing discount. For more information about how to qualify for a bulk mailing discount, visit the following USPS Web site: http://pe.usps.gov -- Hope this helps, Doug Robbins - Word MVP Please reply only to the newsgroups unless you wish to obtain my services on a paid professional basis. The USPS doesn't care, and neither should you. See
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897290 for explanation. If you're really determined to use the POSTNET code, you can insert a BARCODE field from the Insert Quick Parts Fields dialog. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
