Use Insert to place the second document into the first one. Be sure to
put a Section Break New Page at the beginning of the second document
before you do so. Are there headers/footers in either or both?

Word2007, Insert tab Object Text from File.

Word2003, Insert File (IIRC).

If the two documents have different formats using the same style names then
what you ask is not possible. Separating the documents with section breaks
as suggested by Peter will work if you have different formats with different
style names.
