Check the 'sticky keys' setting in Windows accessibility options.

Thanks By default, holding down the Shift key for 8 seconds turns on FilterKeys, one of the Windows accessibility options. You can turn it off by going to Start Settings Control Panel Accessibility Options and unchecking it. But all FilterKeys does is ignore rapidly repeated keystrokes, such as what you get when you hold a letter key until it repeats. That shouldn't have any effect on whether you can "get into documents" in Word. What exactly do you mean by that? Can't open the Word program, can open the program but can't open a document, can open a document but can't edit? What version of Word? Has the program been activated (Help Activate Product)? -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
