I cannot type the Symbol @ when I do the speach marks come instead,
I know I have probably hit the wrong key and switched something on, what is it and how do I get rid of it |

You need to change the keyboard layout in the Windows Control Panel to one
that matches the physical layout of your keyboard. It the @ symbol is above the two, you need to use a US Keyboard layout.
