Default saving comments, Office Word 2003

Does anyone know of a way to save comments in Word 2003 as a file separate
from the parent document? I know I can copy comments one at a time and paste
them into a new document, but I'm hoping for a less time-consuming method.

Many thanks.

I should add, belatedly, that I have tried selecting a generic/text only
printer and printing to file, but the resulting file (even if I change the
extension to *.txt or *.doc) is unreadable: most of the text seems simply to
disappear, and the text that remains appears as individual letters separated
from each other by ten or more spaces. Help.
