Default Formatting

Word applies bullets and other formatting to my whole document. I tried the
advice of Suzanne Barnhill but this only works for new documents. My existing
documents still have the problem.

I am using Office 2003

What you are seeing is normal. There is no "general" fix;
instead, you have to modify the Normal style of each affected
document. See:

When you make the correction in a given document, be sure to check the "Add
to template" box so that the change will be written to Normal.dot.
