Default Can I auto-update links in a word doc

I would like to have a file automatically update any links in it whenever it
is opened.

Is there a way of automating this, or having a macro always run to do this
when the file is opened.

Hi Stephen-

No macro needed... go to ToolsOptionsGeneral and check the box for Update
Automatic Links on Open (Automatic is the default setting). You may also want
to go to the Print page of the same dialog box if you want to have the update
handled automatically whenever you print the doc.
