We are using Word 2000 and we are stil having problems with AutoText. We put
in new ones and they are fine, then all of sudden AT that was logged in many months ago is gone and today, stuff that was done in the past month is gone, as well as, the older text. What is happening to it and how do we prevent it from continuing. We use AT constantly. lsl |

I suspect your normal.dot is being overwritten by someone from your IT or
otherwise. You do not need to keep AutoText in normal.dot. It can be kept in a separate global template. See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
