Default Creative Writer to Word Conversion

I know that Word doesn't support importing Creative Writer (.max) files, but
at one time I found a program that converted these files to Word (.doc)
format. I've been searching on the internet and in MS support but I haven't
been able to find it again. Anyone have any pointers?

BTW, I did try saving the Creative Writer file as a .RTF, but Creative
Writer bombs and dies. I also tried doing a copy and paste from Creative
Writer into Word, but when I do after a few pages garbage characters start
showing up in Word after I paste. Don't know why, but that's what happens.
I considered saving the file and/or copying/pasting into notepad but then
I'll loose about 150 pages of formatting.

Thanks!
