Default Two different outlined bulleted lists

Hi,
In a template for Word 2003, I'm trying to define two different outlined
bulleted lists, both having three levels. I have defined them following
Shauna Kelly's instructions. The only thing I did differently, is that I have
defined my own paragraph styles for each level, since there is only one
Word-defined group of styles (List Bullet ..) for bullets. Besides, for my
purposes each level has it's own font properties. Of course, I linked my own
styles to the appropriate levels in the lists.

But ... when I apply one of the lists to some paragraphs and then decide to
apply the other list, Word loses the level information; all paragraphs return
to level 1. How can I prevent this?
