I'm having problems getting my filepath to show the way I want it to and I'm
hoping someone can help. I inserted a filepath and name in my footer and it showed the way I wanted it to: J:\Procedures\In Process\Mortgage Rate Sheet. But when I print it, it reverts to the format of \\ulaneocu.org\Groups\Team Lending\Real Estate\Procoedures\In Process\Mortgage Rate Sheet. This filepath is waay too long and I want it to show the shorter one. I don't recall having this issue before so maybe I accidentally changed a setting? Even if I try to change it back, it changes to the longer filepath when I print it. Please help, this is driving me crazy!! Thanks. |

This is concerned with fact that you are on a network and when you print the
field is updating to show the full network path. One way round this would be to save the document before inserting the footer then having inserted it and produced the correct result, while your cursor is in the filename click CTRL+SHIFT+F9 to lock the result. You could also try adding a 'lock' switch to the field eg {filename \p \! } but frankly I am not convinced this will work. Other methods would require inserting the required path with a macro, which may be less convenient. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Treesy wrote: I'm having problems getting my filepath to show the way I want it to and I'm hoping someone can help. Thanks, I'll try your suggestions. I guess I found it odd that it never did
it before until just recently. So I thought that maybe I changed a setting. But I will definitely try your suggestions. Thanks again!!
