Default Recently used file list stuck at 4

Hello, All!

When I open Word and go to tools|options and set the recently used file list
to show 9 files, it works fine until the next XP Pro boot. After that it
goes back to the default of 4. How can I get this to stick at 9?

Thanks,
Colonel Blip.

Options settings are stored in the Registry. If yours are not being saved,
then either your Data key is damaged (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissngMenusEtc.htm) or you have an
add-in messing with Word.
