following folder:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033

That's not the usual location for user templates. In Word, click on
Tools | Options | File Locations, and note the location for User
Templates. That's where your custom templates should go.

I appreciate the quick response that fixed the problem, I can now see
those templates. Only other question I have is how come I dont have a
preview for those templates? Should I try and resave them?

You won't have a preview unless you check the box for "Save preview picture"
in File | Properties. But you really don't want to do this because if you do
then every document you create based on one of the templates will also have
a preview picture unless you clear the check box, and this preview picture
ridiculously increases the file size (and is actually not as useful as the
preview you get in Preview view *without* a preview picture).
