Trying to figure out how to get my word .dot templates distributed to
the entire corp. I have created them and have placed them in the following folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033 but when I go to create new documentation/on my computer i dont see any of them listed????? Thanks Duane |

That's not the usual location for user templates. In Word, click on
Tools | Options | File Locations, and note the location for User Templates. That's where your custom templates should go. Thanks Duane I appreciate the quick response that fixed the problem, I can now see those templates. Only other question I have is how come I dont have a preview for those templates? Should I try and resave them? |

You won't have a preview unless you check the box for "Save preview picture"
in File | Properties. But you really don't want to do this because if you do then every document you create based on one of the templates will also have a preview picture unless you clear the check box, and this preview picture ridiculously increases the file size (and is actually not as useful as the preview you get in Preview view *without* a preview picture). -- Suzanne S.
