Default does .doc form need specific version of word to use the form.

I wanted to create forms that users complete in Word and save and email the
filled form.

I was wandering if I make this form .doc file and put it online, does people
need to have specific version of word to use it?what are the limitations?

If you construct your form in Word 97 it should work in all versions of Word
created after that.
