Default Word HTM formats on Sharepoint--HELP

Hello:
I have saved a doc file into a htm format and am storing in a Sharepoint doc
library. The problem is that when viewed in HTM format, the borders and
tables all have varying widths. The Border now aligns to the margins (good),
but the tables are variable (bad). Nothing lines up. THis does NOT happen in
the .doc format. What am I missing?

Many thanks, Bettergains

Hi Better,

There are limitations on what a browser can reproduce
in .htm format over .doc format viewed in Word, but
columns within a table should line up (although if
you're merging cells/rows/columns you can get some odd
results).

You didn't mention the verison of Word or of sharepoint
services/portal site you're working with.

Do you get the same result if you use File=Web Page Preview
in Word and in the Weblayout view in Word as you do in
View=Print Layout?

Do you have fixed column widths in the table?
What Table=Autofit choice are you using on the table.
