Default Macros running very slow in Excel 2003

Does anyone know why macros that ran ok in Excel 2000 now take forever
in Excel 2003? This affects any kind of macro and turning Auto
Recalculation On and Off does not help.

You're more likely to get a sensible answer to this if you post in an Excel
newsgroup. This one is for Word.
