Every time one particular user creates a document and saves it, the next time
it is opened it contains something like the following: Testing to see if problem fixed. -- only this line typed in Normal Normal Default Paragraph Font Default Paragraph Font Receptionist Receptionist E:\Rec Desk\testing.docÿ䀀老& Unknownÿ! Times New Roman Times New Roman Symbol Symbol Testing to see if problem fixed Testing to see if problem fixed Receptionist Receptionist Receptionist Receptionist Testing to see if problem fixed Receptionist Normal Receptionist Microsoft Word 9.0 SEND International of Alaska Testing to see if problem fixed Root Entry 1Table 1Table WordDocument WordDocument SummaryInformation SummaryInformation DocumentSummaryInformation DocumentSummaryInformation CompObj CompObj ObjectPool ObjectPool Microsoft Word Document MSWordDoc Word.Document.8 Does anyone know why this text is getting inserted by Word? In the File Open dialog, change the "Files of type" dropdown from "Recover
text from any file" to "Word documents". That was the problem. I didn't know about the Recover file type. Thanks for
