![]() Hi, We have encountered this problem several times - worked on the file in Word 2000 (part of Office 2000 suite), ACCEPTED ALL changes. Made sure it's all clean, sent it to the client. The client is using Word 2003 and claims when they open the file ALL the changes/markups are showing up on their screen. It's not just one client complaining, and not just one computer here we are saving the Word 2000 doc on. SO we can't blame just one PC here or one client out there. Also, since I do have Office 2003 installed on my computer, I have opened those same Word 2000 files on my computer and didn't see any markups showing up! So, I have no way of helping my users who keep getting complains from the clients, because I don't see a problem! What are we doing wrong? How do we save the files so tracked changes/markups do not show in Word 2003? Any help is greatly appreciated! -- kroha ------------------------------------------------------------------------ kroha's Profile: http://www.msusenet.com/member.php?userid=2321 View this thread: http://www.msusenet.com/t-1870542257 |

Hi Kroha
I think you'll need to go through a bit of detective work here. Either the files contain tracked changes (and so you need to find out why they are not displaying in Word 2000) or they do not contain tracked changes (and to satisfy your clients you'll need to help them understand what they are seeing). In Word 2000, do Tools Track Changes Accept or Reject Changes. If you click one of the "Find" buttons, Word should say "Word found no tracked changes". Or, in Word 2003, on the Reviewing Toolbar, if you click one of the blue arrow buttons, Word should say "The document contains no comments or tracked changes". Is that what you're seeing? If the documents really are free of tracked changes, and if clients say they are seeing them, then I'd start by either going to see one of the clients, or if that is not possible, ask them for a screenshot. Hope this helps. Shauna Kelly. Microsoft MVP. http://www.shaunakelly.com/word "kroha" wrote in message ...
