Was "Always create backup copy" checked on the Save tab of
ToolsOptions? If so, you will be able to find a backup file in the same folder as that of the original file. Word backups are named "Backup of " + original file name. The file name extension is wbk. Note, however, that a Word backup is not a copy of the current version of the original file. Instead, it represents the original file "one save operation ago". This is because the backup file is created the second time you save the original, and because Word uses the contents of the original file *prior* to the second save when it creates the backup. Similarly, on the third save of the original file, you'll get a backup identical to the second saved version of the original, and so on. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Katie K" Katie wrote in message ... |
