How can I find the original copy of a document I have typed over and saved
without saving it under a new name. Any suggestions? |

If you mean the original save date, it was June 30. I didn't save a "backup"

Your computer does not automatically create backups unless you instruct it
to do so, and this sort of problem is one of the reasons why you should create backups. See http://www.gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm for a start. Without a backup, the possibility of recovering your document once the revised document has been closed is remote.
