Default What happened to Ctrl Shft F8?

I have Microsoft Word 2000. Neat feature allows you do do a column select by
pressing Ctrl Shft F8. Then you can select everything that is in one
vertical line and delete it , copy if, or anything else you want to.
I tried in Microsoft Word 2003, and the feature doesn't work.

Alt+Drag works in most recent versions, but you must use it cautiously in
Word 2003 because Alt+Click opens the Research task pane. Be sure you keep
the left mouse button depressed.
