Default Updating a word document saved in two locations at the same time?

I have a word document saved in two separte files. I would like changes made
in one location to be automatically made in the other. Is there a way of
linking the documents?
Thanks

You could do the following: Open the file that should reflect the
contents of another file. On the Insert menu, click File. Click the
icon of the file to be inserted. Then click the arrow next to the
Insert button and choose Insert as Link.

Alternatively, you could take a look at
http://gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm (see the section titled
"Save document to two locations").
