I had the same problem as Suzanne about receiving an expired certificate in
Word (macros). I read your answer and used your solution. Thank you. But what is Caere? "Jay Freedman" wrote: The probable cause is an add-in installed by an old Caere product, probably an OCR program. Look in Word's Tools Options File Locations dialog to find the location of Word's Startup folder, then close Word. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the Startup folder and look for a template (.dot file) that looks like it came from Caere. If you can narrow it down to one, then move it to another folder (or delete it, since it isn't doing you any good). If you can't tell which one it is, start moving files out of Startup one at a time and restarting Word each time, to see which one causes the message. This general problem of startup messages is covered in section 4 of http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...peningWord.htm. -- Regards, Jay Freedman http://aspnet2.com/mvp.ashx?JayFreedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org "Suzanne" wrote: Anyone know how to get past this problem? Every time I bring up Word I have to click to enable or disable macros. I've read thru all the macro help to no avail, so please don't send me there. I also checked out the Caere website. NADA. The message that pops up is "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Office\Office1 contains macros by Caere Corporation A certificate (signing or issuer) has expired. then I am forced to manually enable or disable macros. Anyone ever dealt with this? |
