Hello,

I have Office XP (Word 2002) would like to install a German spell checker
but I can't find the German dicionary. Could anybody let me know how I could
install this feature?

Depends on what language version of Word 2002 you have. A German
dictionary is included with the following language versions:
Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, French,
German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian,
Norwegian, Polish, Slovenian, Swedish, and Turkish. If you don't
have one of these language versions, you can purchase the Office
XP Proofing Tools CD and install a German dictionary from that.

for more information. I don't believe Microsoft still sells this
CD directly... you will probably have to look for it at a
conventional or online retailer. Note that the Office 2003
Proofing Tools CD will not work with Office XP.

I have been trying to find out the same think Jerome. Have you had any luck
on the subject yet? My email is if you do. Send me
your email address as well and when I get down investigating the question I

Thank you JoAnn. Somebody else in the community stated that this program will
not work with windows XP. Is that correct? And would your recommendation
also apply to a request for the German dictionary in Outlook as well?

also - I have Windows XP.

The system requirements state you *must* have Win 2000 (SP3) or Win XP. I
suspect you may have misread the post about it not working in XP.

A quick check leads me to believe it will work in Outlook.
