Default notify author of changes to document

We use word to generate quotes for work, these generally have to be updated
at various stages during the process, in many cases by different people, is
there a way in which the originating author of the quote can be notified when
a change is made to the document, e.g. via email?

What version of Word? In 2003 there is an option on the File menu to send a
document for review.

Hope this helps.
