Default Transparent text box ?

I have a text box with a picture fill background and some text.
Now I want to add a small text box with some more text in it at a
different orientation (a title) but I want this second smaller box to
have a transparent background so that the picture shows through. I
have found the Draw Fill Color More Fill Colors Semitransparent
tick-box which nearly (!) does what I want, how do I make it fully
transparent ?

Word 2000
Windows ME

thanks.

Dont worry ! I solved it !!
"No Fill"

But it would still be nice to be able to vary the degree of
transparency ( for future ref )

This must be one of the things that was improved in Word 2002 or 2003, as
the Lines and Colors tab of Format Text Box in Word 2003 has a slider for
transparency, keyed to a spin box that can be adjusted from 0% to 100%.

Thanks,
I expected that something like that would show up somewhere upon
ticking the box, but it didnt.

! dont see anything like that, neither in Format Text Box Colors and
Lines (only a tick box for semitransparent next to Fill)
nor in either the Fill Color or Line Color tools on the Draw toolbar,
both of which have semitransparent tick boxes only :-(

So, yes, it must have been an oversight that got cured in 2002/3
I wonder if I can upgrade my 2000 , probably not because it was
bundled with the computer by the OEM.

Seems an odd lack, to only provide one fixed level of partial
transparency !
ho-hum

I think OEM versions qualify for an upgrade. Student and Teacher edition
does not, but I think it's the only one.
