i want to be able to link a merged field in some other place in my document
but i am goin to delete a value in one of the merged fields with find and replace and i want that to update in the linked part of the document to |

Once you insert your merge field, you can see that information again in the
document by inserting either a StyleRef field or simply a Ref field. If you use a ref field, I would suggest that you bookmark the original merge field first, to make it easier. The StyleRef field will grab the first text it finds styled in the way you determine. Both of these items can be found under Insert | Fields | Reference categories.
