When I alter the column width in a table and then try and repeat the action
in another table using F4 (or Ctrl Y) it does not seem to work in Word 2003.
It worked perfectly in 98. Any thoughts?

Yes, it doesn't work in W2003.

It doesn't work if you use the Table Properties dialog, but it does if you
use the old Cell Height and Width dialog, which you can restore from Tools |
