Default Is there a way for Word to scan and remove offensive language?

No, well, not automatically.

If Word doesn't do so automatically, is there any other way to do so manually?

Yes, you read it and delete what you feel is inappropriate.

If you know what words you are looking for, Find and Replace could help you.

It may be worth looking at Tools | Options | Spelling and Grammar. Click on
Settings, and you'll find some checkboxes you can use to fine-tune the
grammar checker. Conceivably telling Word to flag "colloquial language"
might catch offensive slang--not sure if there is a checkbox for cursing.
