Default word loads but won't show up or be active window

the application loads but then drops to the tool bar and i can't "get to" the
application or blank document. This is a carry over problem into outlook.

i have tried everything, including uninstall and reinstall, but it
remembers. ONly problem on one id.

help!
please!

Are you sure this is not a display problem - Like sometimes when you have
your computer displaying on two screens, and when you then think you are only
using one screen the computer still displays some of your applications in the
"other window". Similar stuff can happen if your screen resolution is
incorrect.
If you think this might be it just go back to your control panel and screen
settings and play with that a bit.
