Default Word Files Suddenly Unavailable

When I attempted to open various Word documents today, a message popped up,
telling me that those documents are unavailable. What do I do?

Have you activated Word/Office? Try clicking Help Activate Product.
What does it say?

Thank you for replying so quickly. I did what you suggested, and it said
that my product has already been activated. Do you have any more
suggestions?

Again, thank you.

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How to use Office programs
with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for more info.

If you have Norton AntiVirus, go into its Miscellaneous options and
disable its Office Plug-in. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How to use Office
programs with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for details.
