Hello-
It sounds like the watermark is embedded in the header/footer. Try ViewHeaders & Footers to see if you can select & delete it there. Good try CyberTaz but no cigar. That doesn't remove it either.

Wellll... it can only be in one of two places.
If the doc does actually have Section Breaks, make sure you are lookng at the H/F layer for the Section where the watermark is showing up. If in multiple sections it has to be deleted from each one. If it is actually on the text layer (far less likely) it may be hard to select if Behind Text has been used for Text Wrap. Try using the Select Objects (white arrow) tool on hte Drawing Toolbar & see if you can select it with that, then delete. It will have to be selected & deleted on each page that it appears. Congratulations. You have just won a cigar! Actually, I found the solution,
your item # 1, before receiving your latest post. The document does have multiple sections, and the watermark remained embedded several sections back in the document. I couldn't fix the problem with your original suggestion because when I went into the H/F layer I was trying to remove the watermark using the printed watermark dialog box. When I went back into H/F and just manually selected/deleted the watermark, it went away permanently. Thanks a bunch. You were really helpful.
