Default can you redact old existing documents

The redaction tool is very cool and useful but i can only get it to work when
i'm making a new document. Is it possible to redact old documents. The
buttons on the redaction toolbar are greyed out when i'm in an old document.
I'm using Office Pro 2003 and the existing documents i wish to redact are the
same version.

I don't recall seeing the word "redaction" used in English before. In
French it means something like "writing" or "editing". Is it possible
that you are referring to the "Track Changes" feature and the
"Reviewing" toolbar?

If so, you can make the Reviewing toolbar active by turning on the
Tools | Track Changes feature.

The redaction tool is a new Word add-in for Word 2003. See
