Hi,
I am trying to insert a XSD file in my word document, by using the "Insert - File" menu option. When I do this only a blank space with the indentation in teh XSD file appears. The actual content of teh XSD file does not apper in my word document. Has anyone else come across this problem? Have you resolved this issue? Can you please tell me how this can be corrected? |

I assume you have Word 2003, which is XML-aware. When you insert an XSD, which consists only of tags, Word automatically hides the tags (unless you go to the XML Structure task pane and check the box for "Show XML tags in the document", which makes the tags appear as little purple boxes). To avoid this, go to Tools Options General and check "Confirm conversions at open". Then insert the XSD. A confirmation dialog will appear; change the selection from "XML Document" to "Plain Text". -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
