Default word 2002- no "this section only" option for vertical alignment

when trying to apply "vertical alignment" to only 1 section of a document in
word 2002- There is no option for "this section only" in the drop down menu.
Only choices are; "whole document" and "this point forward". Any one have a
clue why this is?

Bill,
Maybe I am pointing out the obvious to you but are you sure you have a
section break applied in the document? Maybe you applied a page break
instead. Look at the indicator in the status bar, what does it say when you
hit Ctrl+end to go to the end of the document?

This tells me you only have one section. The "this point forward" option is
offering to insert a section break for you.
