Default Office 2003 mail merge error

I am running Office 2003 under Win XP 2p.

When adding Contacts from the Outlook contacts folder to a mail merge
document in Word 2003, I get the following error message: "UNABLE TO OBTAIN
LIST OF TABLES FROM THE DATA SOURCE"

How can I solve this?

Thank you

From the information in the article I understand that you must start the
mail merge from inside Outlook instead of starting it from Word. In other
words the Outlook option in the mail merge taskbar of Word is not working
and this seems to be a flaw in the program. I'm I right?

Yes and no - Microsoft has removed the Outlook converter for security
reasons. In any case you get far more control when starting the merge from
Outlook so it is no great loss.
