I am using Windows XP and in creating a Table of Contents - no hyperlinks are
being generated to enable jumping from the TOC to the subject location within the document. |

Are you sure, Lorraine? In Word 2002 and up, they added the need to hold the
Ctrl key while you click a hyperlink. You can change that option if you like under Tools--Options--Edit tab. Anyway, in a TOC that DOES have hyperlinks, there's a /h in the field code. Here's how to see the field codes: http://www.officearticles.com/word/v...osoft_word.htm ************ Anne Troy www.OfficeArticles.com "Lorraine" wrote in message ... The version of Windows is irrelevant here. What is your version of Word?
Hyperlinking of TOC entries was introduced in Word 2000, but page numbers are hyperlinked in all versions. As Anne suggests, you may not be aware that in Word 2002 and 2003, you must press Ctrl while clicking on a hyperlink to follow it (unless you disable this option on the Edit tab of Tools | Options). -- Suzanne S.
