Default Tracked Changes

I want to remove an author's tracked changes. I have gone to "show" and have
removed the check mark from the person that I don't want to see changes, but
I don't seem to be able to "save" or "save as". When I reopen the document,
the changes that I wanted to remove are still there. Help!

Default Tracked Changes

Hi Sharon -
I am assuming you don't want to simply "accept" or "reject" the changes from
the author; those choices would effectively erase the author's input.

There is an addin from microsoft - search microsoft.com for "remove hidden
data," and download it; it becomes an entry on Word's file menu. That
however, pulverizes all changes in the doc, not just one author.

HTH,
Greta

Thanks GretaT. The problem is that I do just want to get rid of just one
author and not the others. Thanks.

You need to do the opposite of what you're doing. Instead of hiding the
author you want to get rid of, select only that author's changes to be
displayed, then click the arrow next to Accept Change (or Reject Change) and
choose Accept/Reject All Changes Shown.
