I've been using envelopeextras for years to print our business envelopes. I
use a document with all the needed addresses and select the one needed. The problem is that I suddenly have 2 envelopes fed for a single address. The first envelope has the correct address while the second is blank. The problem is NOT the envelopeextra file as I have tried printing without and have the same results. It is not a printer setup problem as I can print envelopes from another computer on the network and it works fine. I have also tried deleting the Normal.Dot file and letting Word rebuild. That was no help. All other printing is normal. Using Word XP. The printer is a HP5Si with envelope feeder. Can anyone help? Thanks! |

Since I was underwhelmed with answers I was forced to solve the problem.
Turns out that I had allowed the Windows auto update system to check and install updates for my XP OS and XP Office packages. Somewhere in that update path the printer driver was changed. I ended up at registry level removing extra printer paths and migrating the needed drivers from another computer. What became interesting was that downloading the latest XP driver set from HP or Microsoft did not correct the registry entries. It was amazing the crap left behind in the registry from printers past. Microsoft really needs to work on keeping the registry clean after hardware and software removals. There were entries from a pair of printers removed 2 years ago. Another problem ran into was when I allowed MS to checked for an updated driver. It installed drivers for a printer I don't have. I have a HP5Si and it installed the driver set for an HP6. Bottomline - use the XP rollback and save your current setup before allowing MS to update your Office software.
