Default Insert Intem in TOC

I am using a template that provides a table of contents with links to other
parts of the document. I want to add a section to the document and include
thatsection as a sepeate item in the table of contents. I would REALLY
appreciate some help with this. I know it is prob. really simple, but how to
do it eludes me.

Probably the TOC was created using this method:
http://www.officearticles.com/word/e...osoft_word.htm
So perhaps you just need to use the styles they used.

Default Insert Item in TOC

I must really be missing the obvious somewhere...

If I have a TOC that looks like:

I. Something .....................1
II. Whatever ......................2
Whatever Else ..............3
Whatever You Think ......4

I would like to add a section on "Whatever I'm Doing" between "Whatever
Else" and "Whatever You Think" and have the links and pages automatically
update.

I tried changing "Whatever I'm Doing" to Level 3 (to match the other sub
headings) and updated the TOC. I expected to see it added, but it was not.

What am I missing?

I figured it out ... It did turn out to be easy.

There is a "promote" button that needs to be pressed to get it included in
the TOC.

Thanks!
