In code how do I create nested fields, for example something like

{MERGEFIELD ABC {COMMENTS XYZ }}

Default Creating nested fields

I don't know about this particular set of fields, but you select the inside
field and press Ctrl-F9. This adds another set of merge braces that you can
type the exterior field. For an example of a bear of such a field, take a
look at http://addbalance.com/word/datefields1.htm.
